Why Take a Jamming Approach?

Use your percussion, clapping, voice, dancing ... there's so many ways to join in with the jam

Our Jamming Resources

Our Get Jamming subscription includes a library of downloadable audio tracks and videos to jam along with and PDF guidance sheets to get you started on your jamming journey.  A new track, video and training material is released each month.  The themed tracks are a mix of soundscape and musical elements, created to provide the ideal level of stimulation for people living with dementia.  They enable engagement and joining-in without being over stimulating.  Each track is five minutes long - they can be used individually for impromptu jams or together to provide the musical input for a longer jamming group.  The tracks are deliberately created to be unfinished until you jam with them.  Alongside the audio, the videos offer another way to engage during sessions and can be used as the basis for a multi-sensory jamming space.  You can use the tracks immediately.  Just pop them on and have a jam along with your percussion.  They provide an easy, engaging and inclusive alternative to using CDs and recorded music tracks to play along with.  Preview some tracks and video HERE

The Jammers complete the tracks.

Then you can take things a step further with our included online course "Get Jamming With Music in the Care Home" which teaches you the tools and techniques to be able to move forward with the jamming approach.  This is all about co-creation, creating together and becoming the band.  It's an approach that offers an essentially social activity that's accessible, inclusive and fun - and it really does give everyone a great sense of achievement to be part of the band.  With our jamming resources we assume no special musical knowledge or skills - anyone can do this.
